Event Details

For the past 20 years, Kentucky Derby Day has served as History Cherokee’s largest annual fundraising event. Derby Day was originally hosted in the Historic Crescent Farm Rock Barn, a race horse stable constructed in 1906 by Augustus (Gus) Lee Coggins. Over the years, our organization has grown exponentially and while we can no longer fit this event in the Rock Barn, Coggins’ legacy carries on through Derby.  Learn more:  www.historycherokee.org

Derby takes place every year on the 1st Saturday in May and features a variety of activities and experiences, including:

  • Bourbon tastings
  • Hat contest
  • Pony pull
  • Silent auction
  • Gourmet food & specialty cocktails
  • Live-viewing of the Kentucky Derby
  • & more!
